Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients

1 large Green Tomato, sliced          1 / 4 to 1/ 2 cup Buttermilk,

1 / 2 cup Flour                                   1 / 4 cup corn meal,

Salt and pepper                                 1/ 4 Cup oil (for frying)

 

Method

Soak sliced tomatoes in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes

Combine flour, corn meal and salt and pepper in mixing bowl
or brown paper bag. Add tomatoes to flour mixture and cover and shake to coat
tomatoes well.

In cast-iron skillet heat oil to just under 375 add tomatoes
fry 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until tomatoes are nicely brown.

They are Great hot or cold, fabulous sliced and added to
