Insurance why do I have to have it? You don’t until you do!
Insurance is a means of protection from financial loss. It is a form of risk management, primarily used to hedge against the risk of a contingent or uncertain loss. … The amount of money charged by the insurer to the insured for the coverage set forth in the insurance policy is called the premium.
That definition came from the online dictionary.
Why the heck is the food guy, the travel guy, the spread love guy writing about insurance tonight?
Well, I have been into mishaps lately either was my fault. However, it did make me think about insurance. If every driver had insurance, premiums would be much lower. If all citizens had health insurance those costs would be lower as well. Because there would be more people in to spread the risk… I hope I got that part right. Talk with your insurance person to truly understand the equation.
Remember, I cannot speak for anyone except myself, OK so I put it out there. However, you have to learn for you, your family and your situation. Get insurance and don’t undercover yourself!
I can tell you though there’s nothing worse than being under covered.
maps of insurance companies in my 2 hometowns…

The first accident I’ve been in, I’m sitting at a traffic light waiting to turn left and some guy rams right into me, oh my Lord!
I spent the last two years or so rehabbing my back, now I’m BACK (pardon the pun) to square one. The guy hits me, I’m sitting in the driver seat in shock this gentleman walks up to the driver side window, I lower it and he says oh I’m so sorry I’m so very sorry! Please let’s pull over exchange information. I’m like oh, OK heads hurting and I’m Shook up, OK so I pull over so we can exchange information, the Guy no longer a gentleman, jets! Takes off, Runs, I go DANG, you know I said that right DANG!
I’m pulled over to the side my trunk is all popped open it’s like crazy right several people come to see if I’m OK. People are wonderful at our hearts right except the guy who hit and ran!
This one beautiful citizen says it looked a little fishy so I started taking pictures! right on good people.
She got his license plate and vehicle, yes with a fist pump!
The police came to make a report not gonna talk too much about that. My son wants to be a police officer and my brother was a police officer, I have some great friends that are police officers. I just wish police interact differently with citizens; especially when there’s no crime involved. I wish they would remember that they have family, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, and uncles that the person that they are going to help is like those people we have a family too. Please approach with a little kindness especially when there’s an accident and people aren’t bit out of sorts.
OK the second accident: I am sitting in the parking lot at Chick-fil-A just chilling not even getting food just taking a break. I am answering emails trying to be a good citizen you know a safe driver not texting and driving pulled into Chick-fil-A.
Dude pulls in with an oversized truck trying to squeeze in a regular parking space WHAT THE… I feel the shake like an earthquake and the sound you know metal on metal and that screech. Hurts my ears just thinking of it! I think oh my God I just got my car from the shop a couple days ago and I’m being hit again. I started laughing out loud no joke!
Now this person had good insurance he didn’t run change information and they been really great about taking care of it so yeah but I’m just sitting here and I just laughed because I think I’ve been an accident in years and here less than two weeks I’m into Namaste
OK so back to insurance you never think you need it until you do and I’ve been covered by the same company since I started driving David Dyke was my first insurance agent he gave me good coverage and said, “Curtis, like I said to your mom and dad 30 or 40 years ago, always have deductible in the bank.” LOL. I’m still with that company that David found, it is run now by a good friend, Wally. So, my advice is to please talk with your insurance person and find out what happens if you have too little coverage. Cover yourself, if not for you for those you love.
Remember, you don’t need it until you need it!
PS I am not an insurance salesperson
