Why was the party so Awesome? It was a small gathering 4 grownups, 10 teenagers, spread over 2 large rooms with 2 big screens and lots of food! Good food, ribs, 4 dips, 3 types of chips, pizza, Chili that recipe I will share in a couple of weeks, one of the kids Dana brought brownies that were out of this world, and Buffalo Wings!
The Picture of the wings are from Instagram by @thehungryfan she has some incredible food pictures! Check her. The other picture of Anchor Bar home of the original Buffalo Wings..

I got this recipe from Kathy’s, Uncle John their family moved west from New York decades ago, I am told once a New Yorker always a New Yorker?
Buffalo I have been there several times by myself and had great times. However, I had the most fun in the city that is home to 4-time Super Bowl runner ups the Bills, when my kids came along; we hit all the sight including the Anchor Bar, home of the original Buffalo Wings, wow were they good!
This version of Buffalo Wings comes from a book published by New York State Division of Tourism, so some fact about Buffalo, the city covers 50 square miles, is the second largest city in the state, is the nation’s largest producer of flour and one of the biggest grain-holding ports. I have to check the publishing date of the book next time I see Uncle John, I wonder if those 2 facts are still accurate. Buffalo originally called New Amsterdam official took its new name in 1816. Enough Back story, on to the recipe!
Buffalo Wings
Ingredients
24 chicken wings
salt and pepper to taste
4 cups oil for frying
1 / 4 cup butter
2 – 5 tablespoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon White vinegar
Celery sticks
Carrot sticks
Method
Cut off tips and separate each wing at the joint. Season with salt and pepper, heat oil in deep fryer or large heavy pot, when hot add half the wings. Cook about 10 minutes stirring occasionally. When wings are golden brown and crisp, remove and drain well. Place in large bowl. Add remaining wings to hot oil and repeat process. Meanwhile, melt butter in saucepan. Add hot sauce to taste and then vinegar. Pour over wings and mix well to cover. Serve with celery and carrot sticks on the side. And Blue cheese dressing!
That is the recipe from the book I made a few changes remember recipes are starting points. I cooked 36 wings, cooking time about 8 minutes (oil needs to be hot 360) they are softer I also used more butter 2 more tablespoons. Try both ways please and feel free to send me you wings recipes. Don’t forget hot sauce is always optional U-DO NOT HAVE ADD IT!
I got a bit long winded today so the other wings dish next time, maybe and the chili! Please visit me on the web at curtisaikens.net . I love your letters, the ones the like what I do as well as the ones telling me I can do better, its O-K to disagree with me.
Peace
