Looking Back

Published 2013 Novato Advance. Since the publishing, I have earned and Masters in Education, and also become a yoga teacher! Namaste spread love As some of you know I am in the mist of the training program at Dominican University to earn my credentials to become a teacher. As my first semester draws to the end I have been reflecting on the past few months. Why do I love The Facebook? I stay connected to you, Whether you are around the corner Or if you are around the world! Friends and Family! I can see those little one Grow,. The old saying “There is a time and season for everything” was the comforting thought that help me deal with not seeing and talking with loved ones! That were no longer apart of my daily life. Seattle

My 15 hours in Seattle, were just the Bomb! I stayed at hotel on Alaskan Way out the front door I took a right, and walked along the water what a view. When I learn how, I’ll post to the pictures on the site! LOL. Alaskan Way turns into Broad St.  I walked Broad which is a little up hill, but you should walk, to see, feel, and taste the flavor of this beautiful city. Broad took me all the way to the Space Needle,  Yes I admit I am the ultimate tourist. O the art along the way. Before taking the elevator ride to the top of Sea-town, I walked the gardens and circled the tower at least three times, I can not tell you had hard it way keeping my tale out of the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibition before going up. It was getting near sunset, that the thought the got me to the elevator! Recipe of the Day

  Fried Green Tomatoes Ingredients 1 large Green Tomato, sliced          1 / 4 to 1/ 2 cup Buttermilk, 1 / 2 cup Flour                                   1 / 4 cup corn meal, Salt and pepper                                 1/ 4 Cup oil (for frying)   Method Soak sliced tomatoes in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes Combine flour, corn meal and salt and pepper in mixing bowl or brown paper bag. Add tomatoes to flour mixture and cover and shake to coat tomatoes well. In cast-iron skillet heat oil to just under 375 add tomatoes fry 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until tomatoes are nicely brown. They are Great hot or cold, fabulous sliced and added to salads. Mousse of Chocolate From Chef Joi Aikens my niece! Ingredients 11 oz semi sweet chocolate 9 egg whites 5 egg yolks 1 Stick of butter 8 oz cream 1 Cup of sugar Method Melt chocolate over double boiler and melt butter in chocolate Once melted, add egg yolks one at a time, whisking until fully incorporated Beat egg whites with sugar until soft peaks are formed, and fold into chocolate Beat cream until stiff peaks are formed and fold into chocolate mixture. Chill and serve!
